What is highway guardrail?
A highway guardrail is a system that prevents out-of-control vehicles from straying into dangerous areas of a highway. The thickness of the guardrail can reach 4.5mm.



Type of guardrail:
The most common type of guardrail in use today is the W-beam. Also known as two wave guardrail. Now the three-beam guardrail is a new type of guardrail, which is similar to two W-beam guardrail forming a separate section.
Double wave guardrail and W beam guardrail are widely used in the world.
Three beams, also known as three wave guardrail, are used for heavy duty requirements: the end of the guardrail usually forms an airfoil, and the wing end of the guardrail is the end of each set of guardrail systems.


Working flow of guardrail machine
Unwinding → feed leveling → hydraulic punching (optional) → roll forming → hydraulic length cutting→output table

Feeding and leveling device
Function: Used to feed and smooth the coil before hydraulic punching;
Feeding mode: manual adjustment;
Feeding width range :660-800mm;
Inlet and guide roller :45# steel, φ65mm, HRC48-52°, coated with low;
Leveling roller: upper 4 roller, lower 5 roller, a total of 9 roller;
Material :45# steel, heat treatment hardness 48-52 HRC;
Punching device
The punch will be connected to a separate hydraulic punching unit equipped with a fuel tank, motor, pump, pressure control valve, pressure gauge, solenoid valve, hydraulic hose, all designed to operate safely at the required working pressure;
Punch material: Cr12 or GCr12MoV, quenching process, hardness HRC58-62 (select according to demand);
The punch design should be easy to replace without removing the entire unit;
The entire stamping operation will be automated and controlled by a PLC program installed in the operator console;
Hydraulic power: 15kw(according to design);
Roll forming system
- Thickness of raw material: 3 ~ 4mm;
- Molding row number: 14 groups or 16 composition type (select according to demand);
- Transmission type: gearbox transmission (according to design);
- Forming machine structure: arch type;
- Roller :GCr15 or Cr12 (according to design);
- Axis :45# or 40Cr; φ75mm (according to design);
- Molding speed: 10 ~ 15m/min (excluding punching);
